At Tripoli you take the direction for Sparta following the signs for Monemvasia. Αt the entrance of the new town, on the main road of Monemvasia, you will see Mpalkoni sti Monemvasia sign on your right hand side, just before the supermarket "Panagiotopoulos".  The distance from Athens is approx. 285 km., total driving time +/- 3,5 hours. Another option is after Corinth to take the picturesque road along the coast through Argos, Astros, and Leonidio continuing through mountain roads passing the traditional villages of Kosmas and Geraki. Follow through to Skala, Vlachiotis, Molai and finally Monemvasia. This option is considerably longer through winding mountain roads (aprox. 330 km - 5 hours from Athens) but well worth the reward, with breathtaking natural beauty of both sea views, canyon passes and the mountainous landscape. Alternatively the public bus service (KTEL) is regular and reliable (www.ktel-lakonias.gr).
