Terra Nera Suites is named after the famous black sand beach of Perivolos on the magnificent volcanic island of Santorini. Terra Nera Suites buildings follow the traces of one of the oldest tomato paste factories of Santorini. The buildings were reconstructed from scratch maintaining the initial volumes and proportions of the factory combined with the enchanting traditional architecture of Cyclades. Interior design concept introduces selected elements of Acrotiri Prehistoric City frescos into the suites giving each one of them a unique name based on an artwork theme: “Chelidonia” (Swallows), “Papyrus”, “Krinakia” (Lilies), “Blue Monkeys”, “Antelopes”, “Fish”. The whole spirit of the renovation of the building is a blend of local and traditional materials and construction details along with historical art features put into contemporary architecture.
