About this property

Perched on a secluded mountaintop in the Pindus Mountains, on the edge of one of Greece's most extraordinary natural landscapes, Grand Forest Metsovo is a retreat shaped by its surroundings. Black pine forests, dramatic mountain peaks and the traditional village of Metsovo define a place where nature remains raw, present and ever-changing. Designed to embrace all four seasons, Grand Forest invites guests to experience the mountains at their own pace. From forest hikes and wild truffle hunting to alpine adventures, horse riding and quiet moments overlooking the landscape, each stay offers a different way to reconnect with nature. Connect remotely with nature in a respectful way, in full privacy, while meaningful details are taken care of by genuine people. At Grand Forest, we thoughtfully assist our guests in exploring, creating, enjoying, relaxing, restoring and engaging in experiences that enrich their time in the mountains. Set within approximately two square kilometres of private land, the hotel occupies only 10,000 square metres of its natural surroundings. Its architecture was deliberately conceived to respect the mountain landscape, drawing inspiration from the materials, forms and vernacular character of the region. The hotel's 62 suites are spread across eight staggered stone buildings, with grey stone roof tiles, natural façades and exposed timber beams creating the warmth of a contemporary mountain retreat. Peaks and forests unfold in every direction, while the scent of black pine and burning fireplaces becomes part of the experience. Nature feels remarkably close here—and that is precisely the point. 62 Suites: Inspired by the surrounding landscape, our suites combine generous comfort, natural materials and exceptional mountain views. From intimate garden retreats to panoramic suites overlooking the forest and the traditional village of Metsovo, each space offers its own perspective on life in the Pindus Mountains. The Lobby: Exposed timber ceilings, generous furnishings and the warmth of the central fireplace create an inviting place to settle in. Protected from the changing mountain weather, the Lobby is the heart of the hotel—a space for quiet mornings, fireside conversations and unhurried evenings. Metsovo 1350m Restaurant: A contemporary expression of the culinary identity of Epirus. The menu, designed by Consultant Chef Gikas Xenakis, draws inspiration from the traditions of the region and places fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients at its heart. Modern Greek flavours are served against sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and Metsovo. The Pines: One of the hotel's most distinctive spaces, The Pines features two fireplaces and is available upon request for private use. An intimate setting designed for private gatherings, meaningful conversations and evenings enjoyed at a slower pace. Aspen Wellness: Inspired by the Aspen tree and its enduring association with serenity, resilience and rejuvenation, Aspen Wellness is an adults-only sanctuary dedicated to restoration and wellbeing. Treatments by Valmont combine advanced Swiss skincare expertise with considered therapeutic rituals, while the indoor heated pool beneath its glass roof, jacuzzi, sauna and hammam create a tranquil environment for slowing down and reconnecting with the present moment. E. Averoff Hall: A versatile conference and event space accommodating up to 200 guests, dedicated to Evangelos Averoff Tositsas. Deeply connected to Metsovo's cultural heritage and modern development, the hall provides a flexible setting for meetings, private events and celebrations. The Forest: The defining feature of Grand Forest Metsovo. The surrounding wilderness becomes an extension of the hotel and a starting point for year-round exploration. Hiking through black pine forests, horse riding, wild truffle hunting, e-mountain biking, canyoning and off-road journeys into Valia Calda are only some of the ways guests can experience the Pindus Mountains. For those seeking something further, alpine routes lead to remote lakes and high-altitude landscapes, while thoughtfully prepared picnics invite guests to simply find a quiet place in nature and stay awhile. Grand Forest Metsovo is not simply a hotel in the mountains. It is a mountain with a hotel.
