The Archontiko mansion was built in the 19th century by a prominent sponge merchant and was later used by the Ottoman Turks for their military. The building features five supporting arches and 95cm stone walls. The building was purchased by the great grandfather of the current hotel operator in 1913 and served as a bakery business for many years. It has been extensively renovated recently to offer an authentic hospitality experience to discerning travelers.
