The complex of the luxury detached homes “Aegean Sea Villas” is located in the traditional settlement of Livadi in the island of Astypalaia, carved into a rock hillside overlooking the beautiful Venetian castle and Chora, the island’s capital, as well as the beautiful beach of Livadi. The houses are built according to the traditional architecture. The white and blue colours dominate both in the exterior and interior. Each independent house is located at a different height and has its own courtyard and entrance. The complex reminds of the white cubic houses around the castle in Chora, with their whitewashed staircases. One of the architect’s goals was the harmonious integration of the complex into the landscape, respecting the surrounding environment and distinctive Astypalitian landscape. All the residential areas are comfortable and decorated tastefully in simple lines with each unit having its special, personalised character. The interiors are bright and spacious, with numerous windows to allow the natural sunlight through. The decor is contemporary with references to Astypalaia’s tradition, the furnishings simple and insular. Key elements of the design each home’s functionality, making your stay comfortable and pleasant. All furniture has been selected from leading companies in the fields of interior design, lighting, furniture. The same applies to sanitary and bed linen. Each house has its own character and colour, though always respecting the rules and tradition of Astypalaia’s architecture. The houses vary in size and availability of rooms and baths, able to accommodate from 2 to 5 people each. The ground floor house is in one level while the others spread over two floors (maisonette) joined by the traditional wooden staircase. All residences are fully equipped to provide all comforts for a nice and pleasant stay. Common features of all, include unobstructed views over the blue Aegean Sea (from its own separate yard or balcony), the Venetian castle, the traditional village of Chora, and of course Livadi beach located within a 5’ walk. Despite its close proximity to Livadi, the “Aegean Sea Villas” are ideal for rest and harmonious relaxation due to the fact that they are located at a much higher altitude than Livadi. At the same time, as previously mentioned, access to traditional taverns and cafes, as well as a mini-market is very close. One can find there not only fresh food and vegetables but also books, magazines and newspapers, all within a few minutes walk.
