One Story. Two Ways to Live it
Istoria, a member of Design Hotels on Santorini, offers guests a choice between two distinct locations united by one vision. Situated on the caldera cliffs of Firostefani and the black volcanic shores of Perivolos Beach, Istoria invites you to write your own story as you explore Greece's most dramatic island.
Both locations share the same intimate design sensibility and contemporary Cycladic architecture, while embracing all the needs of modern and sophisticated travellers, for an experience that is wholly and authentically Greek. Ιστορία means 'story' in Greek- and at Istoria, every stay is a chapter you author yourself.
Istoria Beach – Perivolos
On Santorini’s tranquil southeastern coast, Istoria’s beachfront suites in Perivolos open directly onto an expansive stretch of volcanic black sand. Here, the island reveals its natural character, with the Aegean Sea just steps away.
The 12 suites feature earthy tones, arched architecture, and private terraces, with most offering outdoor hot tubs or pools. Guests can enjoy modern Greek and Mediterranean cuisine at Mr. E Restaurant, as well as treatments at Elios Spa, with treatments rooted in the island's healing energy.
A relaxed and grounded beachfront stay, ideal for connecting with the island’s natural rhythm.
Istoria Cliffs – Firostefani
In the peaceful village of Firostefani, Istoria’s nine cliffside suites are carved into the caldera, offering panoramic views of the volcano and the Aegean Sea.
These cave-style suites combine privacy with uninterrupted views, creating a calm and elevated setting. Guests also enjoy access to all facilities at Istoria Beach, located a short drive away.
A quieter, more contemplative stay, ideal for those seeking views, privacy, and a sense of stillness.
